In the absence of functioning state institutions, this pillar acts as an act of resistance against the erasure of memory, building community defenses to protect Yemen's tangible and intangible heritage. Our work is a direct response to heritage caught between the hammer of armed conflict and the anvil of urban encroachment and systematic looting.
The program covers the documentation of archaeological sites, the archiving of audiovisual memory, and training local communities to protect their cultural assets.
