Tangible projects that preserve heritage and serve the local community

Yemen Antiquities Protection Observatory

A unit affiliated with the organization specialized in documenting violations against archaeological sites and reporting to international and judicial bodies, established as one of the outcomes of the archaeological assets protection workshop. The observatory is building a database of risks threatening Yemeni heritage, training citizens as community monitors, and raising media and religious awareness about the importance of protecting antiquities.

Yemeni Song Day Festival

On 1 July 2025, the day became a celebration of cultural rights aimed at elevating the values of national unity through art, with wide participation from artists and audiences. The festival featured a dialogue between different Yemeni singing schools, performing the same lyrics with different melodies, a tribute to the golden generation led by musician Mohammed Abdulmalik An'am, and a spotlight on rare "singer poems".

Workshop: Protecting Archaeological Assets in Taiz Governorate

A diagnostic workshop organized by Arniyada in January 2025 to link the legal dimension with community effort, in response to the growing threats facing historical sites in Taiz Governorate. The workshop addressed the demolition of the historical "Qubbat al-Aza'az" dome for a commercial facility and the suspension of excavation at the historic "Hammam Yafrus" due to lack of funding, and launched the "Social Shield" concept that turns citizens into community monitors for protecting antiquities.

Psychosocial Support for Children Through Drawing

Within the "Psychosocial Support Through the Arts" program, the project aimed to compensate for the lack of school activities in conflict frontline areas in the Al-Qahira, Salah, and Al-Mudhaffar districts of Taiz, running from February to December 2025. The project combined drawing lessons with emotional release sessions supervised by psychologists and visual artists, analyzing children's drawings to uncover hidden psychological trauma and providing tailored therapeutic interventions for critical cases.
